coming down with something outrageous...

my good friend, hammy, and i took a road trip this weekend leaving Fargo at 4am to make it to Coon Rapids to meet up with my brother for some Starbucks before he worked in the morning...he's pretty awesome and we pretty much have killer talks whenever we do catch up regardless of if it's rainy craziness outside and i'm running late...

and, really, you should check out his band's, The Season, new song they released today on their Facebook page...and the band being featured on Kings of A & R's website!  i reaaaallly love their music.  even if i didn't know them, i'd still be promoting them all the time!

{they are some good lookin' dudes!}

onward!  so we continued our journey to St. Paul's Crafstraganza at the MN state fairgrounds...we are scheming up plans for what's next with Unglued and it's inspiring to see how other awesome indie craft fairs put theirs together.

it was super awesome to catch up with some crafters who had booths at Unglued and find some new ones to love, too!

which, by the way, you should buy a handmade card for your mom for mother's day - today, actually, so you can get it in time;)  i LOVE made by michelle brusegaard's shop and stopped by her booth at Craftstraganza to stock up on my favorite cards - and to check out her lovely wedding cards, too!

seriously, they're the same price or less than the boring Target cards (though worth way more!) - check it out:)

our last stop was on the range to drop hammy off to stay with his "grandparents" for the next 3 weeks while we take off to korea!  my parents are so gracious and willing to put up with his slober, dog farts, burps, and shedding;)

this is a slightly ADD post so you should check this out...my current favorite song and songwriter:

so summer is approaching...don't let it slip by without you making some plans to keep it full of awesome!

tim ferriss, author of The Four Hour Workweek and The Four Hour Body said in an interview that one of his "happiness alchemy" necessities is to put on his iphone calendar on, say, tuesday the item "PLAN WEEKEND" so no weekend goes by wasted or dull and boring.  i think that can be said the same with summer...

...since we (at least by January or February) can only talk about how we need the weather to shape up or how we just need summer to make us happy, just think of how many summers have passed by without DOING what you thought you would!  so maybe it's time to make some awesome plans with friends...family...or just yourself.  maybe don't fill it completely up to leave room for some spontaneity, but get a few weekends planned so you can truly live this summer and not waste it...

meet up with a friend you didn't see all year and spend the day together in some random lake city...set up a camping date with some fun people...look up shows going on in minneapolis and buy tickets (check out some of their summer fests!)...go to a twins game...try kayaking down the Red...get your family to go to Duluth for the weekend...check out small town fests and have fun!  and BBQ the heck out of the summer, too...

xoxo
